We reported last week that on 24 November 2014 the P5+1 (China, France, Germany, Russia, the UK and the USA) failed to reach a comprehensive deal with Iran to lift sanctions, and agreed to extend the Joint Plan of Action until 30 June 2015 to permit further talks to take place.

The Council of the EU has now published the provisions that extend the partial suspension of sanctions provisions provided for in the JPA until 30 June 2015 – see Council Decision 2014/829/CFSP, amending Council Decision 2010/413/CFSP. All EU sanctions in force in relation to Iran are on the ‘sanctions on force’ section of this blog.
