On 5 February 2015, it was widely reported that the EU has drawn up a list of potential new sanctions targets in respect of the situation in Ukraine.
The proposed list consists of nineteen individuals and nine entities, and will be considered by the Foreign Affairs Council on 9 February 2015. The names of the individuals and entities have not yet been disclosed, but reports suggest that the list includes five Russians and one Russian entity.
The list was created in response to a request by EU Foreign Ministers to the High Representative and the Commission to present a proposal on additional sanctions listings, as we previously reported on this blog.
A full list of sanctions currently in force against Ukraine can be found in the “sanctions in force” section of this blog.
