FOREIGN OFFICE FAQ ON DOING BUSINESS WITH IRAN

The UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office has published FAQs (link here) on doing business with Iran in light of the nuclear deal it agreed with the E3/EU+3 in July. The guidance answers 16 frequently asked questions concerning the implications of the deal for businesses, the timeline for sanctions relief, the areas of trade that will be authorised and when, access to Iran’s financial and banking services, the support available to businesses from the UK government, and other topics.

The FAQs reiterate that until sanctions relief on Iran comes into force the prohibitions remain in effect and will be enforced, and that the UK does not encourage trade with or investment in Iran (see previous blog).
