Possible French sanctions on N Korea

The director-general of the Asia and Oceania directorate of France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emmanuel Lenain, has said that France is preparing to impose its own sanctions on North Korea, in addition to those recently extended by the EU (see previous blog).  Mr Lenain stated that the measures would be in accordance with UN Resolution 2270, the UN’s new sanctions on North Korea (see previous blog), and may include an expansion of the list of people subject to a travel ban and stronger sanctions targeting N Korea’s economy.
