HM Treasury has renewed the final designations of 5 people listed under the UK’s Terrorist Asset-Freezing etc. Act 2010, continuing the asset freezes against them for a further year. All 5 people are designated by the UK, EU, and US in relation to their alleged involvement in a 2011 plot to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the US and links to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Designations under the Act automatically expire if not renewed after 1 year.
