NIOC subsidiaries lose annulment appeal

We have previously reported on a number of cases in which subsidiaries of the National Iranian Oil Company have lost annulment actions in the European court (see eg. here, here and here). The European Court of Justice has dismissed another of those appeals, this one brought by NIOC Pte Ltd and 15 other alleged subsidiaries against the General Court’s judgment in September 2015 declining to annul their Iran listings (see previous blog) – Case C-595/15 P NIOC & Ors v Council [2016].  The ECJ upheld the General Court judgment on all grounds.  NIOC lost its own appeal in March (reported here).
