Today, the EU has sanctioned 2 Ministers of the Syrian Government “for being responsible for the violent repression against the civilian population in Syria, benefiting from or supporting the regime, and/or being associated with such persons” (travel bans and asset freezes imposed). The individuals are Mohamed Mazen Ali Yousef, Minister of Industry, and Imad Abdullah Sara, Minister of Information.
